Great Grandmaster Ip Man

 

Mentor of the legendary icon Bruce Lee, Grandmaster Moy Yat and many others.

 

Great Grandmaster Yip Kai Man known to the world as Ip Man was a wealthy Chinese man from Foshan, China who practiced the art of Ving Tsun for many years. The grandmaster trained and studied every aspect of the art until he reached a master's skill level. He later brought the art to Hong Kong, China teaching it to his two sons Ip Chun and Ip Ching, his nephew Lo Man Kam, and many other Chinese including but not limited to: Leung Sheung, Lok Yiu, Leung Ting, Chu Shong-tin, Wong Shun Leung, Wong Kiu, Yip Bo-ching, William Cheung, Hawkins Cheung, Bruce Lee, Wong Long, Wong Chok, Law Bing, Lee Shing, Ho Kam-ming, Moy Bing Wah, Moy Yat, Duncan Leung, Derek Fung Ping-bor, Chris Chan Shing, Victor Kan, Stanley Chan, Chow Sze-chuen, Tam Lai, Lee Che-kong, Kang Sin-sin, Simon Lau and others. Although Grandmaster Ip Man had many students, those who truely know and have completed the entire system number but a few. The grandmaster passed away in 1972 bringing fame and glory to the Ving Tsun community. Grandmaster Ip Man is survived by his family, students, disciples, movies, and the media. In the world of martial arts he is a true legend.
